Annie Otiquam

Community Outreach

My name is Annie Otiquam, my spirt name is White Northern Lights Woman. I was raised in Biigtigong Nishnaabeg but left to venture the world when I finished high school. I returned 13 years later with 5 children, a diploma in addictions and in social services  as well as many years of good and bad life experiences. I am  new to the Biidaaban family, as community outreach worker. Having  came to Biidaaban in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have yet to experience our surrounding communities in my new role, however I am very excited at the possibility of the lodge reopening soon. I love interacting with people and sharing knowledge I have to offer and to gain new teachings and skills from others. . I consider myself a pretty crafty lady and enjoy creating things through sewing, beading, and painting. I also love taking adventures with my children,  showing them things they can not experience on electronic devices, like hiking trails, swimming spots, or watching the many wonders of the night sky.
